Funeral services were held in
White Salmon, Wash., Saturday
for Stanley Conn, form What-
com County man, who died sud-
denly Thursday in a White Sal-
mon hospital. Death was due to
a cerebral hemmorhage.

Masonic services will be held
Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Walter
Hullbush Funeral Home in Bur-
lingon, followed by burial in the
Bow Cemetery.

Mr. Conn was born at Edison in
Skagit County, his family moving
to the Blaine and Ferndale area
when he was a child. He grad-
uated from the Custer High school
and attended the State Normal
School in Bellingham, now West-
ern Washington College.

For the last 17 years Mr. Conn
had been with the U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service and at the time
of his death was superintendent
of the government fish hatchery
at Willard on the Washington side
of the Columbia River, near Bon-
neville dam. He lived at Cook,

He was well known along the
West Coast and also in Florida
and sections of the East Coast
and gulf coast, where he worked
with fisheries.

He also was a veteran of World
War II, in the Navy, seving
aboard the USS Pluto at Guadal-
canal and other engagements in
the Pacific. He was awarded a

Mr. Conn's mother, Mrs. Rose
Conn, lives at Ferndale and his
last visit was two weeks ago
when he came up for his mother's
birthday. His father was the late
Frank Conn. Two sisters, Mrs.
Freda Conn MacSherie and Mrs.
J.A. Irwin, also live at Ferndale
and a brother, Wilbur Conn, in

The brother and Mrs. MacSherie
went to White Salmon for the
services Saturday and all the
family will attend the services in

Mr. Conn also is survived by
his wife, Mrs. Agnese (Orr) Conn,
at the family home in Cook.

Six uncles and two aunts also
survive, George Conn of Blaine,
Ralph Conn in Oregon, William
Conn of Samish Island, Charles
and Fred Conn of Edison, Ray-
mond Conn of Mount Vernon, Mrs.
Annie Kerr of Edison and Mrs.
Harold Fields of Compton, Calif.
