Obituary of Jacob that printed in the Daily Herald on May 6, 1918:
"A death that brought sorrow to the friends of the family as well as to Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Stanovich and family, was the death of their only son, Jacob P., which occured on Saturday afternoon at 3:45 o'clock at home on West Howard avenue. This was the second death to occur to the bereaved parents within one week. Their little daughter died and was buried last week. The little fellow had been sick for several weeks and although at times considerable hope was held out for his recovery, he failed to gain enough strength to overcome the fatal illness. The lad was eight years and three months of age. The funeral was held yesterday afternoon at 4:00 o'clock from the home of the grandparents of the child, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Stanovich, 1325 East Beach. Services were conducted in the Church of the Nativity and interment was made in the Biloxi cemetery. A large number of the sorrowing friends and relatives attended the last sad rites of the deceased".
