OBITUARY (Killeen Daily Herald - 16 Nov 2003):
BELTON -- Graveside services for Zelma Chaney, 96, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Resthaven Cemetery in Belton with Loyd Hall officiating.
Mrs. Chaney died Nov. 13, 2003, at a Temple hospital.
She was born March 14, 1907, in Paul's Valley, Okla., the daughter of William Newton and Jo Annie Nelson Cownover.
Mrs. Chaney married Fred Harrison "Jake" Chaney Oct. 17, 1924, in Temple. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1998.
She was a member of the Western Hills Church of Christ.
Survivors include four sons, Bill Chaney of Horseshoe Bay, Fred H. Chaney of Waco, Pat Chaney of Medina and Gary Chaney of Marble Falls; a daughter, Frances McHenry of Belton; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Medina Children's Home HCR 16, Box 75, Medina, TX 78055.
The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Dossman Funeral Home in Belton.
