Delna Coe of Eugene died Oct. 29 of complications of cancer. She was 64. A private service was held.

Coe was born Dec. 18, 1940, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Dell and Elna Landers Coe.

She held a bachelor's degree in physical education and a master's degree in education and counseling. She worked as a teacher in the Houston School District for two years. She moved to Arcadia, Calif., in 1963 and worked as a physical education teacher and dean of students in the Alhambra School District from 1964 to 1988.

Coe had lived in Oregon since 1988. She worked for 13 years at Lane Community College as a teacher in Life Skills, a high school liaison for College Now and as editor of the 4-J Pipeline newsletter.

She enjoyed traveling, camping, dancing, collecting teddy bears, plates and stained glass, knitting, crocheting, needlework and gardening. She also enjoyed caring for stray animals.

She is survived by a sister, Suzanne Hetzer of Sherman, Texas.

Andreason's Cremation & Burial Service in Eugene is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stray Cat Alliance or the Lane Community College Foundation.
