Lorene F. Wood, 79, Topeka, died Tuesday, April 20, 2004.
She was born Eva Lorene Farrish, May 22, 1924, in Carroll County, Miss., the daughter of Gibb and Clara Bell Day Farrish. Her father died when Lorene was about 2 years old. Clara Bell Day Farrish remarried when Lorene was about 8, Leonard Opp.
She was a longtime employee at the Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center in Topeka.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Blair Wood (1915-1990); her son, Cleveland Blair Wood Jr.(1945-2000); and her daughter, Barbara Lynn Wood (1951-1972)and an infant daughter born/died 1943.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Jim Rakowitz, San Antonio, Texas; her son, Russell P. Wood, Topeka; and her grandson, Stephen B. Wood, Seattle, Wash.
