William A. "Bill" Breshears, a long time resident of Oroville, passed away on May 19, 2007.

He was born to Robert Raymond and Ressie Ann (Clark) Breshears on January 26, 1932, in Marshall, MO. His family came to Portland, OR in 1947.

He attended school at Benton High in S.E. Portland. After high school, Bill joined the U.S. Navy and then the U.S. Army to become part of the Elite 11th Airbourne Division, where he served in Korea. After his honorable discharge, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp. He had a variety of jobs from Helicopter Mechanic, working on the CH "53" Super Stallion" and CH 46. He served as a Flight Engineer on KC 130 in Chuli, Fubi, Donang and Dongha during his three tours in Vietnam. He retired from the Marine Corp at MCAS Eltoro Sante Ana, CA on June 13, 1976, as a GYSGT. He then brought his family to Oroville, WA after retirement. He worked for several years in Alaska on crab boats as an engineer on the Mr. J. and other boats. He later went to work for long time friend, Chuck Hayes, at Kernan Orchard until his final retirement. After retirement he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, dogs and "Fly Boy Friend", MSGT Bob Larue USAF retired. He was a lifetime member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars and of the American Legion. He is survived by his sons, Kirk of Wenatchee, Ray of Oroville, Charlie of Puyallup and Marvin of Wenatchee; his dogs, Dusty, Jake and Pete; grandchildren, Curtis and Kelly Carver of Wenatchee, Wyat of Puyallup, Syd and Erica of Oroville; his brothers, Herb and Ray; and sister, Mary, all of Oregon. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; and sister, Wanda McAlister Laycock. Bill was a very loving, caring and giving father, grandpa and friend, who will be deeply missed. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2007, at Riverview Cemetery in Oroville, WA. Services are under the care of Betts Funeral Service, Wenatchee.
