Jimmie Ray Adair, 75 of Roseburg, Oregon, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2007.

He was born on February 17, 1932, in Swenson, Texas, the son, of Samuel Jesse and Delzene (Duncan) Adair. He was raised and educated in the Swenson area before moving west to California as a young man.

He entered the U.S. Army in 1953 to serve our country. On November 15, 1954, he was united in marriage to Deana Carpenter in Las Vegas, Nevada. They lived in Terra Bella, California, until moving to Roseburg in May of 1973, which has been home since.

Jimmie worked for Roseburg Lumber Company for many years before retiring. He had been a member of the Lumber and Sawmill Workers, Local 2949, but mostly. Jimmie was a family man. He enjoyed being with his family and loved taking car trips with them. He also enjoyed the friends he made at local casinos.

He is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Deana. He also leaves a son, Darrell R. Adair; and a daughter, Darlene L. Damron, both of Roseburg. Jimmie has three grandchildren, Sondra; Jessica and Catlin and five great-grandchildren, Shaylee; Lakota; Logan; Kyler and Ayden. He also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Loleta Eaton and two brothers, Thomas and Raymond Adair.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at the Civil Bend Pioneer Cemetery. The Veterans Of Foreign Wars, District Twelve Honor Guard, will offer military rites.
