|Birth: ||Nov. 29, 1860|
|Death: ||Sep. 20, 1943|
Daughter of Michael Boyer & Rachel Elizabeth Troup
She came with the family from Iowa to Kansas and then on to Sebastopol, California. In Sebastopol she lived as a simple washerwoman in a small clapboard house close to her mother and Harmer relatives. She raised her sister Sarah Miranda Boyer Shatto's daughter, Marian Cleona Shatto Murray from a tender age after sister Sarah died. At a few points she also took in a few children of her niece Florence June Shatto Dampier after Florence died.
Niece Marian wrote a very moving memoir that includes growing up with Aunt Anna in Sebastopol. Marian presents Aunt Anna as a woman of strong character who knew exactly who she was irrespective of gossip or what others thought. For instance, instead of correcting peoples' perceptions that Marian might be her illegitimate daughter, she just let fools' tongues wag.
She was a very supportive giving person despite her own limited resources - a tough woman with a tough life. She is fondly remembered by the family.
