LANDIS - Clyde Junior Beaver, 83 of West Mill Street, went to be with the Lord and his family on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008.
Born May 12, 1925, in Rowan County, he was son of the late John and Bessie Troutman Beaver. Educated in Rowan County schools, he was a member of Landis Baptist church. Mr. Beaver was self-employed as a plumber in Landis for over 40 years, an occupation he taught to three sons-in-law and grandson.
An avid Atlanta Braves fan, he enjoyed hunting and crappie fishing. He served our country in World War II in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Mr. Beaver enjoyed his family, friends and life. Always having a smile on his face and a joke to tell, he was a joy to be around and a treasured friend and family member to all. He worked hard to support his family and taught them to be hardworking, trustworthy, productive members of the community. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Gurline Wilson Beaver. They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary Sept. 25, 2008. Also surviving are daughters Suzzette Flowers and husband Ronnie and Kathy Nelms and husband Ronnie, all of China Grove, and Cindy Hoell and husband Chip of Landis; grandchildren Jeff Flowers, Rhonda Rayfield and husband Daniel, Summer Faw and husband Chris and Ryan Nelms; great-grandchildren Austin and Morgan Rayfield and McKinley and Marshal Faw.
Love and respected by many, Mr. Beaver will truly be missed.
Service: 2 p.m. Sunday in Colonial Chapel of Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, Landis, conducted by the Revs. Chris Pethel and Billy Honeycutt. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, Landis.
