Lila Tennessee was married to John William Blackburn on June 13, 1861 at Williamson County, TN. Her parents were Charles Lynch Neely and Sarah Elizabeth Wells.

Mrs. Blackburn Died Wednesday
Mrs. Lila Tennessee Blackburn, aged 88 years, died Wednesday afternoon at her home in Nashville, following an extended period of illness.

Mrs. Blackburn was born and reared in Franklin and most of her life was spent here. She removed to Nashville about Twenty-one years ago following the death of her husband, John W. Blackburn.

The deceased had been in ill health for eight years and had been confined to her bed during the past year. Throughout her long illness, she was patient, brave and cheerful, maintaining an interest in those about her until the last weeks of her illness During this time she was tenderly cared for by her devoted daughters. When only a girl, Mrs. Blackburn joined the Church of Christ, living a consecrated Christian life until the end.

Surviving her are five daughters, Mrs. W.L. Quarles and Mrs. R.T. Allen of Nashville; Mrs. D.J. Wagner, Mrs. Letitia Givens and Mrs. W.N. Giles of Franklin; one son, Henry R. Blackburn of Nashville, and one brother, Mumford Neely of Portales, New Mexico, also nine grandchildren .

Funeral services were conducted this (Thursday) afternoon from the residence of Elder F.W. Smith and S.H. Hall. The pallbearers were her grandsons, James, Max, John, Henry Lowell Givens, William and Claude Bearden. Interment took place in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

Ragen, Bethuram and Badgett were the funeral directors.
