A memorial service for retired Maj. Alice Lynne Ahmuty, 72, of Columbia will be held at 11 a.m. July 22 at Epiphany Episcopal Church, 1417 Odenton Road, Odenton .
Maj. Ahmuty died June 11 at her home. She had a heart-related illness.
She was born May 2, 1934, in Baltimore and was educated to be a registered nurse at the University of Maryland and held a master's degree in business administration from Michigan State University.
Maj. Ahmuty retired from the Air National Guard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Ahmuty Sr. and Charlotte J. Pratt Ahmuty; five brothers, Matthew, Theodore and Warren Ahmuty, Samuel Ahmuty Jr. and Herbert Ahmuty Sr.; and two sisters, Jean and Charlotte Bane.
Survivors include two brothers, Robert Ahmuty of Pasadena and Donald A. Ahmuty of Olympia, Wash.
Arrangements are by Witzke Funeral Home in Columbia.
