My great uncle~~
He was born near Berne, Switzerland and came to the United States in 1883. He attended the Onarga Seminary in Onarga, Illinois, which was a private high school. He took the Commercial Course, which prepared him for business.
Uncle Otto married in Cook County Illinois, to a woman named Clara Lindley, and they had a daughter named Dorothy Ethel Baehler. He was an insurance clerk for Aetna Insurance in Chicago. They eventually moved back to Forrest Illinois, near his family home before 1920. I recently found out this was because Uncle Otto was ill. He then died in 1921 in a "sanitarium" in Springfield Illinois. I think he died from Tuberculosis.
I believe his wife and daughter may have moved back to Wisconsin where Clara was originally from. The family has never been able to find their location, and they have been lost to us.
He was gone before my mother was born, so we don't know a lot about this uncle.
Rest in peace Uncle Otto.
