Oliver P. was a 1st Lt. in Gilpin's Battalion in the Mexican War 1846-48.
He married/divorced Mary Jane Kelso, Grundy Co. Mo. 1848/1850;
1855 he married Mahala Hamlin, Adair Co. MO.
In 1863, he was Captain in Co. G, 2nd Nebraska Calvary; his brother, John J. was 1st Lt. in Company L.
At some point after 1870 (possibly when Jesse F. Bayne moved to homestead, 5 miles south of Perkins in 1892) Oliver P. came to Oklahoma to live and died there.
(His daugh. Samantha mar Jess Lucas, then I.H. Terrill, is buried in Perkins Cem. family researchers.
