Matthew Whitley Acton, 25, of Lancaster, Ohio, was called home to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 7, 2007, four days after a work-related accident.

Matthew was born August 9, 1982, to Tim and Sarah (Sally) Acton. Matthew was an employee of Westchester Golf Course. Matthew was a skater and an avid golfer.

Matthew is survived by his parents; sister, Danielle (Jay) Bartos of Pickerington, Ohio; fiance, Lynsey Laub; future father and mother-in-law Mark and Tracy Laub, all of Circleville, Ohio; future sister-in-law, Ashleigh (Chris) Beechy of Dayton, Ohio; grandparents, Tom and Leota Acton of Lancaster, Ohio; grandparents-in-law, Saul and Muriel Laub of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and Ruby Rollins of Chillicothe, Ohio; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins; special friends and belove dogs, Lex and Harley.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Anna Stemen.

Matthew was a class of 2001 Class of 2001 graduate of Bloom-Carroll High School where he was loved by many. His favorite mentor was golfer' Ben Hogan. Future arrangements will be made for a "Matthew W. Acton Memorial Golf Tourament.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made for a counrtrywide golf athlete scholarship in care of the funeral home.

Friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home, 650 West Waterloo Street, Canal Winchester, Ohio.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, with visitation from 10 a.m. until time of the service at David Lutheran Church, 300 Groveport Road, Canal Winchester. Pasdtor Joe Wolfe Jr. will be officiating.

Arrangments have been completed with Spence-Miller Funeral Home, Grove City, Ohio.
