James Monte Clevenger, born June 2, 1942, died on November 25, 2009, after a battle with cancer. He graduated from San Francisco State University in 1967, majoring in International Business.
He was born in Indiana, but loved the west and relocated to Colorado after graduation. He built fishing rods for the Phillipson Rod Company in Denver and also became a stockbroker. He also was on the cutting edge of finding land for wind farms.
His offices were in the stock yards in Denver, and that is where at the Stock Yard Inn, there will be a celebration of his life on January 9, 2010. Details will be sent to his friends at a later date. His final resting place will be on the 5N Ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming.
He is survived by his three children, Lindsay Jeanne (Zakary) Shinall, Nicholas James Lufkin and Monte Renee Clevenger; six grandchildren, Ethan James Lufkin, Savannah Jeanne Lufkin, Kai Meyer Lufkin, Zoe Maria Shinall, Nya Jeanne Shinall and Taj Nicholas Shinall.
