Sophie Chambers of Larkspur, Colorado passed on to her Maker on July 10, 2008 after a long battle with scleroderma. She will be missed by a loving family and many friends.

Sophie was born on January 11, 1942 to Arthur and Ursula Choury in Pueblo, Colorado. She had one sister and four brothers. Her parents have preceded her in death.

She married Melvin (Skip) Chambers on September 10, 1961 in Denver, Colorado, and was a homemaker most of her married life. To this marriage were blessed two children, a son Timothy and a daughter Stacey.

Sophie and Skip moved into the home they built for their retirement in Larkspur, Colorado in 2001. Sophie was a member of Christ the King Anglican Church in Monument, Colorado where she was head of the flower guild ministry.

Sophie leaves behind a loving husband, Skip of Larkspur, and two children Timothy, and wife Robin, Chambers, of Monument, CO; and Stacey, and husband Walter, Whitney of Larkspur, CO; and two grandsons, Blake and Parker Chambers.

She is also survived by one sister Darlene Montoya of Lakewood, CO, and two brothers Bobby Choury of Denver, and Sammy Choury of San Luis, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Arthur Choury and Clifford Choury.

In lieu of flowers the family would encourage tax deductible contributions to the Scleroderma Foundation, Attention Donations at 300 Rosewood Drive, Suite 105, Danvers, MA, 01923; or www.scleroderma.org.

A funeral Mass will be held for Sophie on Friday, July 18, 2008, at 3:00 p.m., at the St. Matthias Episcopal Church, 18320 Furrow Road. in Monument, CO 80132.

An Inurnment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
