Bonnie Hubbard Burks, 103, of Glasgow, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at the home of her son and wife, Don and Brenda Burks of Goodview. Formerly of Rockbridge County, Mrs. Burks was born on January 2, 1902 in Mercer County, West Virginia. Being the sole survivor of her family, she was preceded in death by her husband and partner of 39 years of marriage, Porter Dewey Burks, Sr.; her parents, Ashworth and Nanna* Hubbard; sisters Exie, Virgie and Crystal; brothers Blain, Dewey and Ray, all originally from West Virginia; her sons, Wayne and Johnny Burks and daughter, Phyllis Burks Kelley.

Surviving are her two sons: Porter Burks, Jr. and wife Faye of Glasgow, Don Burks and wife Brenda of Goodview; one daughter, Rae Burks Bolt of Natural Bridge; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2005 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Rev. Brian Weger and Rev. James Kennedy officiating. Burial followed in the Falling Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery where she was the oldest living member of the church.
