Larry Campbell, age 70, passed away in Conroe, Texas on January 22, 2010. Mr. Campbell, born in Marmaduke, Arkansas, was the son of Cecil and Esther Campbell.
Mr. Campbell graduated from Arkansas State University and served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. His career, with Unisys Corporation, spanned over 30 years. During his career, he worked on contracts at the White Sands Missile Range, and several government agencies including NASA and Homeland Security.
Survivors include his wife, Sara, of Montgomery, daughter Kelle Castleberry and her husband Dean of The Woodlands. He is also survived by two precious grandsons, Steven and Daniel Castleberry.
Mr. Campbell was a member of the Conroe Church of Christ where he served as an elder. Mr. Campbell was very active in community service and enjoyed serving others in any way he could.
Visitation will be at Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home located on FM 1097 in Willis on Sunday, January 24 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Memorial Service will take place at the Conroe Church of Christ located at 1860 Longmire Road, Conroe, Texas, 77304 at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25. Burial will take place at Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector, Arkansas at a later date. Those services will be handled by Mitchell Funeral Home in Rector.
