Julia Irene was born to Abraham B. & Elizabeth (McDonald) Landis. Her father was born in Pennsylvania and his mother in New York. (Her parents came from Scotland.) They had ten children; Rosella, (1869-1950), Isabella, (1870-1965), Abraham L., (1872-1932), Frances, "Frank" (1874-1888), Thomas E., (1877-1966), George F., (1879-1949), Julia Irene, (1882-1967), Elizabeth J., (1883-1965), Earl E., (1888-1959), and Lucille May, (1888-1961).
After graduating from High School in Waterloo, Iowa, she attended Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Then she taught district school in the Immanuel Community for several years.
Julia married Joseph Clyde Bolsinger on June 4, 1905 in Colesburg, Iowa. They started housekeeping in Colesburg, where they lived all their married life with the exception of one year in Manchester. They had two children; a son, Cecil Clyde, (1907-2008) and a daughter, Wilma, (1915-2008).
Mrs. Bolsinger was honored at the 125th anniversary of the Colesburg Methodist Church for having been a member of the local church continuously for 69 years. She was an active member of the Women's Society of Christian Service and the 20th Century Club. She became a member of the Order of Eastern Star on Aug 21, 1903, and held an honorary life membership, and was a past Matron in this organization.
She was preceded in death by her parents, all her brothers and sisters. Her husband and children, plus six grandchildren and three-great-grandchildren were surviving at her death.
Julia was well loved by family and had many friends.
