DELTA-Mrs. Maline Glazier Gardner, 65, wife of State Representative Archie O. Gardner, died Wednesday at 5:45 a.m, of cancer in a Delta hospital.
She was born April 20, 1890, at Provo, a daughter a of Charles Albert and Agnes May Smoot Glazier. She was a g granddaughter of A. O. Smoot, first mayor of Salt Lake City.
Her early education was in Provo schools, and she was, graduated from Brigham Young, University in 1911. She was married to Mr. Gardner Sept. 26, 1912, in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. After their marriage they lived eight years on their farm south of Delta, and then built a home in Delta where they have since resided.
She was an active church and civic worker, and had aided her husband during the years he was bishop of Delta First LDS Ward and mayor of Delta. She served as First Ward Reief Society president for three years, was an organist,. teacher, and member of Deseret Stake Relief Society board.
Survivors are her husband, Delta; two sons and two daughers; Evan Glazier, and Owen now Gardner, Delta; Mrs. Ladd (May) Cropper, Reno, Nev., and Mrs. James H. (Cora) Jensen, Los Angeles, Calif., 12 grandtildren; two brothers and three sters, Wilson C. Glazier, Nephi; Mrs. David R. (Martha)Mitchell, Lehi; Forrest S. Glazier, Burlingame, Calif.; Mrs. St. Clair (Lyle) Nixon, Los Angeles, and Mrs. Russell H. (Helen) Humphreys, Pocatello, Idaho.
Funeral services will be conducted in Delta First LDS ward Saturday at 1 p.m., by Ned Church, bishop..
Fiends, may call at the First Ward Relief Society room Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Burial will be in Delta Cemetery, under direction of L. N. Nickle and Sons Mortuary.
Final Rites Held Saturday for Delta Matron
Funeral services for Mrs. Maline Glazier Gardner, 65, wife of State Representative Archie O. Gardner, Delta, were conducted Saturday at 1 p. m. in Delta First Ward by Bishop Ned Church.
Prelude and postlude violin ·and organ music was by Mrs. Norma Hannifin and Mrs. Norma Wright. The opening prayer was given by Orvill Jeffery. Bis.hop Church gave the opening talk, with a sketch of Mrs. Gardner's life.
Speakers were Mrs. Clara Killpack, tribute by Mrs. Thelma Seegrmller, and Dr. M. E. Bird. They
spoke of Mrs. Gardner's fine qualities of character, that guided her as a loving wife and mother, valued friend, and church and civic worker.
Music for the services was given by Elden Sorenson. solo, "Going Home" with Mrs. Norma Wright as accompanist, solo by Ladd R. Cropper, "That Wonderful Mother of Mine", with Mrs. Ruth Talbot as accompanist, and an organ and piano duet, "In the Garden", by Mrs. Norma 'Wright and Mrs. Lucile Stapley.
The closing prayer was by Pres. June W. Black, of Deseret Stake. Burial was in the Delta cemetery, where the grave was dedicated by Fenton Gardner.
