Died -- Mr. William Reese Bowen died at his home in Chilhowee, Mo., on the 27th of May. He was a native of this county and a son of the late John and Elvira Bowen of the George's Creek section. He is survived by his wife and five children, also three brothers and three sisters. Mr. T.J. Bowen and Miss Texie Bowen of near Easley, are a brother and sister. He was a veteran of the Civil War, having served in Col. Black's Calvary Regiment (1st SC) as bugler from beginning to close of the war. (Easley Progress).
