Viola Boyd
of Mooresville
dies in hospital
Viola Boyd, 90, a resident of 24 Allman Addition, Mooresville, died Wednesday morning in the Morgan County Memorial Hospital. She had been ill a month., and hospitalized for 2½ days.
She was born on Jan. 6, 1891, to William and Martha York Sawyer.
She married to Guy C. Boyd, who died in 1929.
Survivors include a son, DuWayne Boyd of Mooresville; a daughter, Shirley Dyer of Curtiss, Wis.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Boyd was a lifelong resident of the county, and besides being a housewife did custodial duties at the Mooresville First Christian Church. She was a member of the Pythian Sisters and the Hazelwood Baptist Church
The Rev. Duane Moss will conduct the funeral Friday at 2 p.m. in the Carlisle and Son Funeral Home in Mooresville.
Burial will be in White Lick Cemetery.
Friends may call until 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the Pythian Sisters will give a memorial service this evening at 7 o'clock.
