On February 14, 1917, Sarah, aged 73 years, widow of the late David Algie. Funeral took place from her late residence, 135 Rochester Place. Services were held at Patterson Park Baptist Church, corner Eastern and Ellwood Avenues.

Her husband died in England in 1896. She traveled to the US and arrived in Delaware in the early 1900s but settled in Baltimore, MD.
She had several children who traveled with her, to include:
Amelia Algie Meyer and Martha linked below and
Charlotte m. William Jacob De Vos
