John and Susan Bassett were from Tennesse by way of Missouri as evidenced by the birth states of their children per the 1870 US Census for Washington Co, Ark. John owned at least 120 acres of homestead land that became satisfied in 1890. That was after his death. The family farm was in section 4 which was two sections south and a little west of this cemetery.
