A versatile and highly competent character player
who was seen in film and tv from 1940's until 1980's. He served in the army during WW2 and was
awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star for bravery in action. He beagn acting in a theatrical troupe of G.I's in Europe. After the war, Hollywood beckoned and he made his film debut in 1947 in "Under Colorado Skies" He appeared in many westerns,war films and a few film noirs. Always a pleasure to watch and enjoy.
He was a favorite of director,Samuel Fuller,who cast him in the leading role of "Park Row" 1953.
Other works include: "Armoured Car Robbery" 1950,
"The Steel Helmet" 1951,"Ace in the Hole" 1951,
"The Long Wait" 1954 and "Crashout" 1955. He retired from film and t.v in the 1980's to a farm
in Jackson,Tennessee. He was born in Holbrook,
Arizona in 1922 and died in Jackson,Tennessee in 1998.
