Mrs. Alfred Braun

Mrs. Alfred Braun, 78, passed away due to a heart attack she suffered at the Resurrection hospital in Chicago on Tuesday evening, August 31st. She had suffered a previous attack while aboard a Trans World Airlines plane as she was flying to Chicago alter visiting her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Gibson, at Lynn, Mass.
Minnie Diehl Braun, the daughter of John Henry and Henrietta Schweppe Diehl, was born in the town of Troy on Nov. 29, 1887. On Dec. 18, 1907, she was married to Alfred Braun in the home of her parents. The couple farmed in the town of Westfield for a short while and then moved to a farm in the town of Troy. In 1959, they moved to the present home in Prairie du Sac. They observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1957.
After coming to Prairie du Sac, she became a member of the First United Church of Christ.
She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. John (Nellie) Genz of Sauk City; Mrs. Ezra (Lillian) Smith of Lodi; Mrs. Leonard (Esther) Shulka of Prairie du Chien; Mrs. Rockwell (Verna) Crain of Glasgow, Montana; Mrs. Ellsworth (Lilah) Gibson of Lynn, Mass.; three brothers, Dick of Stratford, Texas; James and Harold of the town of Troy; one sister, Mrs. Frank Werla of Sauk City; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, who passed away on April 14th of this year, and one brother and one sister.
The funeral service was held at 2 o'clock on Saturday afternoon in the First United Church of Christ, the Rev. Wilson M. Bixler officiating. Burial took place in the Sauk City cemetery.
The Zimmerman Funeral Home was in charge.
