Flora Maria Chong, better known as Pug and China to friends and family was born in the City of Colon, Republic of Panama. Her mother's name was Carmen.
Flora Maria was a beautiful girl descended from the Silver People, the Panamanian West Indian people whose ancestors were in large part responsible for building the Panama Railroad and the Panama Canal. She was a mixed race child of a Chinese father and a part West Indian and Chinese mother. She is survived by an only son and grandchildren.
