George was the son of George Seymour & Freelove (Smith) Griswold.
We do not know where his father was buried at this time.
Those of us who researched this family think George Jr went in search of his father.
He married Samantha Jane Sams 17 Oct 1880 in Umatilla Co., OR. He and Samantha had no children. They divorced and she remarried.
I am still looking for George's father's burial.
obit-I don't have the date or name of this newspaper.

This pertains to his father George Seymour Griswold:
George Seymore GRISWOLD, age 72, wrote his will January 1885. Named his wife, Freelove M.; 2 daughters, Lucy TURNER and Mary A. HARRIS, of Wauconda, IL; and son, George, location not given. George S. left $1 to each of these and the rest was given to his friend and benefactor Henry CROW and his wife Matilda after his debts including his "proportion" of the indebtedness of the firm Crow and Griswold. Thence followed a lawsuit by the Griswold family.
