TONGANOXIE -- Funeral services for William R. Black, 51 of Tonganoxie, who died this morning at his home will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Friends Church here with with the Rev. Willard Black in charge and the Rev. Ray K. Fitch assisting.
Masonic services will be held at the graveside, Hubbel Hill Cemetery, Tonganoxie.
Black was born March 2, 1919 in Dodge County, Neb. and worked as a plumber for Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant for the past six years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Henri Masonic Lodge 190 AF and AM, Tonganoxie, and the pipefitter union.
Survivors include one son, Robert Hunzicker, Leavenworth; his mother, Mrs. Addie Black, of the home; six sisters, Mrs. Beulah Hall, McLouth; Mrs. Gladys Zimmerli and Mrs. Doris Galliland, both of Linwood; Mrs. Ruth Hunter and Mrs. Opal Kerns, both of Tonganoxie; and Mrs. Alta Wright 1207 W Fifth, Lawrence.
Six brothers, Floyd, of Denver, Colo.; the Rev. Willard, of Emmitt, Ia.; Wayne, of Tonganoxie, Horace, of Linwood; Merle, of Staten Island, N.Y.; and Dale, of Kansas City, Kan.; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Quisenberry Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
