The Wallace family moved from Plantersville to Belton, TX, sometime around 1907. After her mother's death, her father, who was crippled with a paralyzed leg, fostered his sons out and placed Ellen and her sister, Evaline, in Buckner's Orphange in Dallas on September 16th, 1918. While at Buckner's she was fortunate enough to receive nurse's training and licensure. Ellen and her sister, Evaline, were released from the orphanage April 29th, 1925, to her grandparents, Wm W. & Ellen Wallace, of Elgin, Texas.
Shortly after her release from the orphange she met and married William Oron Brock. While living in Texas they had the following children:
William O Brock Jr
Billie Ann Brock
Carl Estes Brock
In 1929 they moved to Kansas City, Missouri. They had the following children there:
Betty Sue Brock
Gloria May Brock
Ellen was a diabetic, although surgical pneumonia was the cause of her death in 1962.
