C.J. CLARK PASSES; RITES HELD MONDAY
Claude J. Clark, native of Tennessee and resident of Hammond, La., for the past several years, passed away in a local hospital at 11:30 Sunday morning of injuries sustained in a wreck early Friday morning.
Mr. Clark was severely injured in the head on collision of his car while en route to Hammond and a machine occupied by three young men of Summit. He was conveyed to the City Hospital here for Treatment but his injuries were so serious that little hope was held for his recovery from the outset. He was 49 years old.
Last rites were said from Catchings Chapel at two o'clock Monday afternoon, with the Rev. Fred B. Bookter, pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating.
His wife, who was at his bedside during his hospitalization, survives as do three brothers, Charley Clark, Oakdale, Tenn., and Oliver and Oscar Clark, both Harriman, Tenn., and three sisters, Mrs. Allie Ballard, Mrs. Carrie Lee Harmon, and Mrs. Mae Turpin, all of Harriman, Tenn. Interment was in Hollywood Cemetery.
Claude was Elree's first husband.
