Esther Scantlen Ritter Earlywine, 78, of Louisburg, died Saturday in the Louisburg Nursing Center.
Mrs. Earlywine was born in Kalamazoo* Mich. She was a homemaker and mother.
Mrs. Earlywine is survived by two daughters, Nancy Ritter Rau and Alona Earlywine Martini, both of Louisburg; son Stanley James Ritter of Houston, Texas: sisters Mildred Scantlen Shaffer of Florida, Laurice Scantlen Lambdin and Lilis Scantlen Egolf, both of Michigan; brothers, Robert Scantlen and Ronald Scantlen, both of Michigan, and Raymond Scantlen of Illinois; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Esther was a licensed minister in the Christian Pilgrim Church (Headquarters in Coldwater, Michigan) and took over the pastorate of the Flint, Michigan Church after James died.
Esther had Diabetes and went blind before she died.
Esther's ashes are in the possession of her daughter Alona Marlene Steed in Louisburg, Franklin County, NC
