Funeral Services for 75 year old Joan A. Donnelly of Morristown, will be held Tuesday at 10 am at St. Andrew's Church in Norwood with Rev. Msgr. Harry Snow, pastor, presiding. Burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Norwood.

There will be no calling hours. Mrs. Donnelly passed away Saturday morning at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Ogdensburg. Arrangements are with the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood.

Mrs. Donnelly is survived by seven nieces and nephews and was pre-deceased by her sisters Sue Monaghan and Catherine Mitchell.

Born in Ogdensburg on January 16, 1934 to the late Gerald and Eileen Finch Donnelly, she graduated from the College of New Rochelle and completed graduate work at Southern Illinois University, the University of San Diego Program in Guadalajara, Oxford, the University of Salamanca in Spain, the University of Hong Kong and completed credits for a major in Spanish at St. Lawrence University.

She lived for extensive periods in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Spain and England.

She retired from being a teacher in the N.Y. City area. She lived in New Rochelle and taught in the Mamaroneck Public Schools for twenty six years. She also taught in the Graduate School at the College of New Rochelle, SUNY Purchase and SUNY Potsdam, taught in Chinatown, NYC , Maryknoll Convent School in Hong Kong, and the National University of Taiwan in Taipei. Altogether, she taught for thirty five years.

She was a communicant of St. Mary's Cathedral Parish, Ogdensburg, and was past President of the NYS Association of ESL/Bilingual Teachers, a member of the Advisory Committee on Bilingual Education for the NYS Commissioner of Education, a member of the Advisory Council for International TESOL , regional coordinator of ESL/Bilingual teachers in Westchester County, NY and author of the Reach Out ESL series distributed worldwide by Collier Macmillan International and authored numerous articles published in professional magazines. She enjoyed working with Deacon Tom Sharlow and Father Joe Morgan at Riverview Correctional Facility in Ogdensburg. She was also a member of the Carmalite Community in Clayton, NY and St. Mary's Cathedral. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary's Cathedral or to St. Andrew's Church in Norwood.
