Mr Reed
Eldon William Reed, 65, of Buck Creek Road, Highlands, died Tuesday, Jan 4, in an Asheville hospital.
He was a native of Haywood County (sic) and the son of the late William Lester and Pearl Frady Reed. He was a plumber.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ernestine Zachary Reed of the home; one daughter, Jewel Crowley of Patrick, SC; one son, Morris Reed of Highlands; four sisters, Helen Henson, Laverne Dills, and Gloria Younce, all of Franklin; and Norma Hopper of Atlanta, GA; three brothers, Junior Reed of Highlands, George Reed of Georgia, and Charles Reed of Franklin; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Jan 6, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Bryant Funeral Home in Highlands, with Rev Johnny Rogers and Rev Walter Wilson officiating. Burial was in Highlands Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Dennis Wilson, Johnny Lowe, Lonnie Manley, and Kevin Reese. Honorary pallbearers were Guy Crisp, Mike Zachary, and Sam Zachary.
