Caroline Dixon was born at Camp Point, Illinois, Feb. 24, 1864, and passed away at her home west of Polo, Oct. 26 1936, aged 72 years, 9 months and 26 days.
When but a very small child her parents moved from Illinois to Caldwell County, where she resided all her life.

In 1881 she was married to Jobe Dixon and five children survive this union.
Her's is a priceless heritage. She weathered bravely the storms of a long and useful life. Her last days were beautiful in her continous preparation for the life hereafter, in which she so firmly believed, and she did indeed believe as William Cullen Bryant has so beatuifully expressed in his writings:
"Approach thy grave, like one who wraps the drapery of his couch about him and lies down to pleasant dreams."
She was a faithful wife and a good mother.
Her parting words to her family were "Be good to one another and meet me in Heaven."
Mrs. Dixon is survived by her husband, Jobe Dixon and five children, Fannie Milligan of the home, Sam Dixon, Tom Dixon, Mrs. Anne Greenwalt of Lathrop and Mrs. Sam Swafford of Kearney; ten grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. J.M. Lewis and Mrs. Jane Dixon.
Funeral services were held at Prairie Ridge Church, conducted by Rev. W.E. Barksdale. Interment at the Priaire Ridge cemetery.
