Nellie Ann Bader, formerly of Longmont, (Colorado) died Thursday, May 21, 1996, in Littleton, she was 97.
Mrs. Bader lived in Longmont as a child. She graduated from College High School in Greeley and later from Colorado State Teachers College of Education in Greeley in 1955 with a bachelor's degree in education. Prior to moving to Longmont in 1928 from Idalia, Colo., she taught elementary school in Yuma and Washington counties. During World War II she taught in Weld County. She retired from teaching from Dupont Elementary School in Dupont, Colo.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Longmont, Sliver Spruce Rebekah Lodge No. 16, National Retired Teachers and the Fort Nightly Club. She enjoyed reading, handiwork, fishing and was a wonderful cook and seamstress. She was also very interested in politics.
Born on Dec. 30, 1898, in Windsor, Mo., she was the daughter of George William Neiman and Elzina Sutton Neiman. She married A.O. Bader on Feb. 26, 1921, in Benkelman, Neb.
Mrs. Bader was preceded in death by her husband on May 1, 1972, and by one son, four brothers, one sister and one grandson.
Survivors include two daughters, Mildred Persons of Littleton and Mary Zaitz and her husband Robert, of Leadville; and seven grandchildren, Diana Wright of Houston, Texas, Peggy (Persons) Beach and her husband Gary, of Cheyenne, Wyo., Bill Persons of Arvada, Judy (Persons) Faulder and her husband David, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Mark Persons and his wife, Cathy, of Englewood, Laura (Zaitz) Mahl and her husband, Karl, of West Dundee, Ill., and David Zaits and his wife, Karen, of Keystone.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 24 at Howe Mortuary Chapel, 439 Coffman St. In Longmont, with the Rev Billie G. Martin of Frazier Meadows in Boulder officiating. The Casket will be closed at all times, Burial will be in Foothills Gardens of Memory in Longmont.
