Clyde Edward Bias was born on Sep 21, 1923 in Huntington, West Virginia to James Ely & Chloe Alice (Byrd)) BIAS.
His parents moved to North Carolina briefly about 1932, as one of their sons was born there. Before the 1940 Census they were all living in Pinellas County Forida. I have not been able to find any mention of Clyde having married, But his obituary does contain information about a daughter, Dianne...but no mention of a wife.
He was a PFC. in the United States Army Air Corps during WW II and served in the following areas; Europe, Africa and the Middle East. (This information was supplied by his sister-in-law, Andre'e L. Bias, on the National Memorial Registry for World War II service.) His military service was from Feb 27, 1943 until Nov 24, 1945.
Note, that Clyde is holding a guitar. Tt was mentioned in different records I found for the brothers that they all liked Blue Grass music.
Clyde had 3 brothers; James ELy Bias Jr. 1925-2008; Jack L. Bias 1930-2009; and Leland K. Bias 1932-2003. He had 2 sisters, Barbara L. (Bias) Appling 1932 - ; and Doris Jean (Bias) McBratney 1928-2010.
They were all the grandchildren of Arbirt and Edith Ann (Floyd) BIAS of Huntington, Cabell County, West Virginia.
I am attempting to locate a family member to obtain more information on where all of the siblings are buried and who their spouses are.
I found this memorial for Clyde and as a result was able to trace his family back 2 generations with census and other records and it has been a wonderful adventure to add more branches of our Bias family to the tree.
If you are a member of this family, please CLICK on my name and you will find my email address. PLEASE contact me, I will gladly share many generations of your family information back into the 1700s in VA.
