Monday, July 23, 1883: "Mr. Samuel Keller, a well-known and worthy citizen of the 8th District, died on the morning of the 18th, aged about 60 years or upward. He was an excellent gun and blacksmith, a worthy member of the Baptist Church, and a good citizen who will be greatly missed in the community."
Notes: A Civil War pension record for John Murr contains a sworn statement by Samuel Keller. In that statement he gives his age as 57 years old, and when corresponded with the year of the statement it implied a birth year of 1821.
To the best of my knowledge the names of his children are linked below to their Findagrave memorials. Additional two daughters (Susan and Evalinda) are noted below. If other descendants have different information please send me a message.
Susan Keller, born Nov. 1849, died Oct. 27, 1902. She married James Gardner. Per family, she is buried in Little Kagley Cemetery (no headstone).
Evalinda Keller, born Mar. 1853, died after 1918. She married Joseph Anderson Kagley. Her death date and burial place are unknown. Her husband is buried in Old Piney
