WARREN BARKER, 97, of 600 Valley Rd., formerly of Quaker Manor, Portsmouth, died Sunday at the John Clarke Nursing Center. He was the husband of Florence E. (Spooner) Barker.
Born in Middletown, he was a son of the late Clark and Fanny (Lawton) Barker.
Mr. Barker was a caretaker at Oakland Farm, the Glenn Farm in Portsmouth, and the Grosvenor Estate in Newport. He also worked for the State of Rhode Island Highway Department before retiring in 1967.
Besides his wife he leaves a son, Robert B. Barker of Tiverton; a daughter, Barbara Cody of Jamestown; 6 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Portsmouth Cemetery in Portsmouth.
