Master Sergeant Charles L. W. Miles, Sr., 79, of Little Rock, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on October 11, 2007.

He was born in Heth, Arkansas, on April 10, 1928, to the late Charles W. Miles and Gertrude Smith Miles.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Polly Ann Miles and infant son Andrew.

He served in the US Army, active and reserve for 20 years retiring at the rank of Master Sergeant. He served in combat during the Korean War participating in the Inchon landing with the 7th Infantry Division which changed the course of the war. During this campaign his unit entered deep into North Korea where he participated in the infamous Chosin Reservoir fighting.

He is survived by two sons, Charles Miles, Jr. of Little Rock and Mark Miles and his wife Sherry of Clarksville, TN; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery with military honors.
