Russell Edwin Bennett, Jr, 68, of the 100 block of Arden Circle, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in a local hospital. He was a native of Norfolk, Virginia and was the son of the late Russell Edwin Bennett, Sr. and Ida Whichard Blottner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Ferdoucha Bennett.Mr. Bennett graduated from Frederick Military Academy and Old Dominion University. He was a Navy Veteran of Vietnam. He retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 31 years as an accountant.Survivors include his daughter, Susan Lynn Silva and her husband Frank and his son, Russell Edwin Bennett III all of Richmond, his sister, Jane Mooring Bennett of Norfolk and his brother, John Whichard Bennett and his wife Bonnie of Kill Devil Hills, NC. , and three step granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2014 at 2:00 PM in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Reverend Sandy Benton Plasters.The family will receive friends in the Norfolk chapel of H.D.
