Jenny Thayer, 90, died at the Clearwater County Memorial Hospital in Bagley on Sunday evening, January 3, 1993.
Jenny was born in Ishpeming, Michigan, on December 25 ,1902, to Lars and Mina Anderson. She was raised and educated in Owatonna, Minnesota, and came to Bagley after graduating from high school. Her marriage to Charles H. Thayer took place in Bagley on June 8, 1922. The Thayers lived and farmed in Holst Township, Clearwater County (north of Bagley) until moving into Bagley in 1966.
In her earlier years she belonged to homemakers groups in the area and worked with the Green Thumb organization in 1966 and 1967. Her husband Charles died July 29, 1982.
Since 1969 she lived in a trailer house near her daughter, Ellen.
Survivors include daughter, Ellen (Mrs. Don) Braaten of Bagley; one son, Jerome of Menominee, Wisconsin, nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Her funeral will be Wednesday, January 6 at 4 p.m. in the Cease Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley. The Rev. Dennis Brovold will officiate and burial will be made in the Bagley City Cemetery under the direction of the Cease Funeral Home of Bagley. Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 3 to 7 p.m.
