WATERTOWN, N.Y. — Nancy M. Chamberlain, 67, of N. Indiana Ave., passed away 3 p.m. Sunday at University Hospital Upstate, Syracuse.
Born Sept. 11, 1940, in Pierrepont Manor, the daughter of Leon E. and Grace Vincent Dickinson, she attended school in Evans Mills. She later earned a diploma from ICS of Rollins College, and also took several college courses in Orlando, Fla.
She married Lawrence D. Chamberlain on Oct. 8, 1967, in Evans Mills. The couple lived in Dexter, Orlando, Fla., for 25 years, and then moved to Watertown last June.
Mrs. Chamberlain worked as a cashier at Fays Drug Store, Watertown. She also worked in copy and advertising for Empsall's Department Store, Watertown. She was one of the first women radio announcers at 1240-WATN AM, Watertown. While living in Orlando, Fla., she was a cashier and did art work at Shell World.
She was an avid artist working with oil and water and charcoal paintings, sculpting, pottery, and other arts and crafts.
Over the past few years, she was a member of Northern New York Genealogy Association and also a former member of Northern New York Artists' Guild.
She was a member of Unity Church in Orlando, Fla.
Surviving are her husband, Lawrence, Watertown; two sisters, Thelma Moye, Davenport, Fla., and Marjorie Kovalik, Dexter; and two brothers, Leon L. Dickinson, Watertown, and Laurence Dickinson, Cape Vincent.
A graveside service will be held in May at Woodside Cemetery, Belleville, at a time and date to be announced. There are no calling hours.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
