Martha Ann Humphreys Jones, daughter of John and Anna Roderick Humphreys was born on a farm South of Wymore, Gage County, Nebraska. Martha was the oldest of three children in her family. She attended Pleasant View, District 81 country school through the eighth grade and graduated from Wymore High School in May 1929. After graduating she taught in a country school for one year and then took a job in the Five and Dime Store in Wymore. Martha married Kenneth R. Jones on July 21, 1932 and to this union one child was born. Martha developed health problems at a very young age limiting her adult activities. Her strong faith and her cherry disposition was a way of life for her.

Aunt Mart, you are missed so much by your family and friends. I know you are in Heaven with all the other members of your family. Your faith in God was an inspiration to everyone who knew you. Rest in Peace. Your loving niece, Vera.
