William is the son of Philip Anthony

William Anthony, one among the oldest citizens of Jefferson County, died at his home in Rose twp., a short distance north of Brookville, He had been in failing health for some time, and death was the result of general physical prostration, the effect of old age. The deceased was born in Armstrong county, April 12, 1805, and at the time of his death was aged 90 years and 7 days. He was a member of the Dunkard church, as was also his wife, who died thirteen years since, for a period of over sixty years, and was a peaceable and law abiding citizen highly respected by all who knew him. He leaves six children, three sons, and three daughters, to mourn the loss of an affectionate parent, Mr. John, Jacob and Reinard and Mrs. Annie Gregg, Mrs. Levina Kelly and Mrs. J. S. Barr.
The funeral took place on Sunday and the remains were interred in Zion graveyard in Eldred twp.
