Myrle graduated from Whitewater Normal School (now college) with a degree in business. She excelled at penmanship and filled in the diplomas for Whitewater College in Spencerian Script from 1916 until 1946.
Myrle taught at Park Falls High School until her marriage to John C. Bruce on June 23, 1921, at her parent's home in Medford, Taylor County, Wisconsin.
John was manager of the Ford Agency in Phillips from 1921 until the couple purchased the business in 1936 and renamed it Bruce Motor Sales. During WW II, they relocated to California where both worked in the shipyards.
Myrle was a Past Worthy Grand Matron for Wisconsin as well as a Past Worthy Matron for Chapter 154 Eastern Star, Phillips, Wisconsin. In California, she was active in White Shrine.
Date of Death: 02 Feb 1971 San Jose, Santa Clara County, California. Funeral: Friday, Feb 5 at 1:30 p.m. at Chapel of the Flowers, (Deneari-Geoffroy-Orilgia) 900 S Second Street, followed by interment at Oak Hill Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, California.

Survivors: Her loving husband, John C Bruce, daughter: Beverly J (George) Isenberg of Gilroy, Calif.; son: Robert J (Marilyn) Bruce of Colfax, Calif; son: Kenneth R (Blodwyn) Bruce of Los Altos, Calif and daughter Janet M (Robert) Hanley of Pescadero, Calif; and twelve grandchildren.
