DALHART - Aileen Brewster, 87, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. George Chambers, pastor of Lakeview United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Horizon Funeral Home.

Aileen Duggan was born Sept. 22, 1920, in McKinney to Dewey and Myrtle Cook Duggan. The Duggan family moved to the Dalhart area when she was in grade school. Aileen was a 1938 graduate of Dalhart High School. Aileen looked forward to class reunions and enjoyed helping contact her classmates.

On July 15, 1939, she married Bill Brewster in Clayton, N.M. Her priorities included taking care of Bill and her family. Aileen loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A longtime member of Lakeview United Methodist Church, she was active in all areas, serving as a Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher and on several church committees, including chair of the benevolence committee. Aileen was a wonderful cook and volunteered many hours in the kitchen at Lakeview.

She was a loving woman who enjoyed life, family and games. She was in all senses of the word a fabulous wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Her self-sacrifice and caring nature will be missed by all who were privileged to know her.

She was preceded in death by a son, John Brewster.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Brewster; a daughter, Rhonda Brewster of Dalhart; an "adoptive daughter," Jessie Jones of Asheville, N.C.; a granddaughter, Jeri Kay Gambrell and husband Brad of Dalhart; a grandson, Justin Brewster and wife Amy of Mustang, Okla.; six great-grandchildren, Kae Lee Simmons, Jacee Trout, Garrick Gambrell, Riley Gambrell, Breanna Brewster and Ashlyn Brewster; and three cousins, Glenn Paul Reagan and wife Millie of Texline, Gary Reagan and wife Judi of Dalhart and Dale Reagan and wife Leslie of Stratford.

The family suggests memorials be to Lakeview United Methodist Church, 1401 Walnut Ave., Dalhart, TX 79022; or Coon Memorial Home Health and Hospice, 320 E. Texas Blvd., Dalhart, TX 79022.
