Dau of Jacob S. Wiley (1831-1871) and Catherine Growall (1822-?), Ninetta was b. in Wisconsin. By Jul 1870 she was living with her parents in Santa Barbara, California. She married first Roscoe Eames in 1875; Roscoe was an editor at the Overland Monthly and Ninetta was a free-lance writer. Roscoe and Ninetta raised their niece Charmian Kittredge, who was later to marry Jack London. Roscoe & Ninetta had no children of their own.
Ninetta and Roscoe divorced between 1900 and 1910, when Ninetta married second Edward Byron Payne, a minister, editor of the Overland Monthly and other periodicals, and writer. They lived in Glen Ellen and Berkeley, California until the death of Edward in 1923. Ninetta and Edward were very close to Jack and Charmian London.
Ninetta published frequently as "Ninetta Eames."
Ninetta married Fred Foster Springer third- she was 84, he 72. Ninetta d. 06 Mar 1944, but we have been unable to find a burial site for her.
