Lynda Lou Armstrong of Hurst, passed away Sunday, November 27th, in Keller, TX. She was born to Charles Guy and Rosemary Neff Blevins in Fort Worth Texas, in the wee hours of January 1st, the first baby at Harris Hospital for the new year of 1937. She was adopted later by her paternal grandparents, Charles Walker Blevins and Mamie Elena Davis. She played piano, marched and twirled baton in the school band, and attended Rosen Heights Baptist Church as a girl. She was a member of the 1955 class of Northside High School in Fort Worth, Texas, and had enjoyed being reconnected with alumni following her 50th year class reunion. She also enjoyed growing flowers. She loved floating in her pool. She liked little, fluffy white dogs. She liked collecting antiques. She enjoyed rock and roll music, especially her favorite, Bob Segar.
She retired from the US Postal Service as a Maintenance Control Clerk in 1991 after a 24 year career. She also worked as a contract employee for the US Census in 1999 - 2000. When her children were young she performed odd jobs like delivering phone books, helping her kids with their paper routes, and part-time Christmas help at Montgomery Wards.
She was married to Robert for 58 years and they had 5 children.
Memorial Service 3:00 PM, Shannon Funeral Chapel, 6001 Rufe Snow Dr., Watauga, TX 76148. Of course, it was fashionably late in keeping with Lynda Lou tradition, and did not start until 3:10 PM.1937
