Lewis Bauer was a veteran of the Civil War servin with Co. E 205th Regiment Pennsylvania Volunteers.
His occupation early in life was as a miner at the iron mines at Siesholtsville. In his later years he was employed at the stone quarry at Forge Dale.
His death was the result of a fall down the stairs at the home of his son, resulting in a fractured hip.
